"Cannibal" Single by Static-X from the album Cannibal Released February 5, 2007 Format Digital download Genre Alternative metal Length 3:12 Label Reprise Static-X singles chronology "Dirthouse" (2005) "Cannibal" (2007) "Destroyer" (2007) "Cannibal" is a song by industrial metal band Static-X and the first single from their album with the same title. It features John 5 (Rob Zombie/Marilyn Manson) as a guest guitarist on the track, most notably for a sterling guitar solo. This is also the first time Static-X have released a single for the title song. "Cannibal" was released on iTunes as the album's first single. It was later released to active rock radio stations, but failed to chart. When commenting on the song Wayne Static said - "With ‘Cannibal,’ I was thinking of how, when I see people eating these big pieces of meat, it’s really disgusting to me. It’s like they could be cannibals; that you could give somebody a piece of a human and they’d eat it and not know the difference. So, with that basic idea in mind, I was able to write the song around it.."[1] Music video A video for the song appeared on iTunes. However, the video on iTunes has been denied as the real one, according to Wayne Static speaking on the band's forum.[2] The official video for the song features a live performance by the band with the album version playing over it. The "unofficial" video of the song was released on Static-X's live DVD Cannibal Killers Live. References ^ http://www.otsegoville.com/news.php?year=2007&month=2 ^ "Cannibal the music video".
