Adrian Minune (real name Adrian Simionescu, born September 24, 1974) is a Romani-Romanian manele singer. He also learned to play the accordion on a small accordion bought by his grandfather. He took the name Adrian Copilul Minune (meaning "Adrian the Wonder Boy") in the honor of Ionică Minune ("Johnny the Wonder", one of the most famous lăutari). Later he changed his name to simply Adrian Minune (Adrian the Wonder), but also called himself Adi de Vito for a short period of time. In the mid 90s he became the most famous singer in the new-manele style, while the genre was still in underground. He gained media attention with the hit: "Of! Viaţa mea..." ("Oh! My Life...") together with Costi Ioniţă. Adrian Minune and Costi Ioniţă's manele music albums, "Fără Concurenţă" and "Autoconcurenţă", sold rapidly all over Romania. Costi Ioniţă had recently split with his group band Valahia. In 2005, Minune sung "Te voglio bene assai" (Caruso) together with Daniela Vlădescu, a Romanian Operetta soprano. In 2006, Adrian Minune was named "The Emperor of Manele", while his niche market rival Nicolae Guţă "The King of Manele". Family Adrian Minune married his long time life-partner, Cati, in 2004 and has two daughters (Caren and Adriana) and a son (Adrian Jr.) with her.
