Illustrating his natural talent and skills in 2006, he won at the age of 18, the W.A.K.O World Tournament in Torino (Golden Belt) under Full Contact rules, after few weeks of preparation. Since then he has been training under the guidance of the father of Greek Kickboxing, Mr. George Mallios. He comes from a fighting background since his father Kostas Michaloudis was a fighter himself managing to win 3rd place of W.A.K.O World Championship in 1986. Thanasis started training in Martial Arts at the age of 5, more specifically in Pankration and Kick-Boxing along with his older brother Christos Michaloudis. During his childhood and as a teenager he was training in "Ormi Kavalas", Club (Greek: Α.Ο. Ορμή Καβάλας) by his father Kostas, Mr. Simos Zahopoulos (Team Leader) and Mr. Chatzioannidis Anastasios (Head Coach). During the same period, he has been trained by Mr. Paris Vasilikos (The Golden Greek) in "Machites Kavalas", Club (Greek: Α.Ο. Μαχητές Καβάλας) in various different techniques. In 2006 Thanasis at the age of 17, was accepted in The Polytechnic School of Patra University, and left his home town to study, Programming & Computer Engineering. Early years He moves to Patra, in order to begin his University studies but he also resumes his training in Martial Arts now being trained by Mr. Gregory Pistikos (Pistikos Team). In December 2006 he participates in the W.A.K.O World Tournament in Torino, Italy winning the tournament and his first International title in Full Contact (Golden Belt). Even though his studies should have been enough to offer him a safe professional life, as a computers engineer, he chooses to leave it behind and secretly travels to Athens with one goal in his mind. Amateur fights Thanasis Michaloudis and George Mallios in "Mallios Team". Upon his arrival in Athens he visits “Mallios Team” and asks from his idol to train him and develop his fighting style and techniques. After a series of tests George Mallios accepts him as his student and together they develop his natural talent aiming to hit the international kickboxing scene in a couple of years. Through George Mallios he meets the experienced Greek fighter, Mbambis Papadopoulos (BG Boxing Academy) who becomes his regular sparring partner, pushing Thanasis to the limit. Throughout two years of intense training and preparation Thanasis evolves to an Oriental Rules fighter adding knee strikes and devastating high kicks to his arsenal. From his early days in Kavala until his arrival in “Mallios Team”, Thanasis Michaloudis became 5 times Greek Amateur Champion (2003–2008) with an amateur record of 26 fights 23 wins and 10 KO’s before he turns pro. From 2008 until today Thanasis Michaloudis developed his professional (A Class) carrier, participating in Greek Promotions and International W.A.K.O events, building a current record of 27 fights, 25 wins & 16 KO’s. In August 2010 he won a K-1 Rules, 4 men tournament in Preveza, Greece organized by W.K.N Champion, Mario Katsis with 2 KO wins. In December 2010 he made his first appearance in promotions of global caliber, participating in “It’s Showtime” 44, Athens organized by Mr. Yiannis Evgenikos in which he beat his opponent, Yiannis Balasis by a 1st round KO.
