She was one of the most popular new models in The Sun, where she regularly appeared as a Page Three girl. She also lived in Quebec for a few years, which she says were the "best years of my life". As a child, Boorman was offered an entrance audition at the Royal Ballet School in London. Melanie Jane's CV shows a list of qualifications which includes, amongst other things, being a qualified bus driver. In 2010, her wedding was featured on Living's Four Weddings, where she came second.
