It was founded in 1908 by members of the Mennonite Brethren and Krimmer Mennonite Brethren Christian churches. Alumni in professional sports Kings Comets linebacker/defensive end, Michael Coleman[1], was elected as the representative at Weak Linebacker for the Team USA American Eagles on July 4, 2009 in Nice, France[2]. Coleman played linebacker for Head Coach Robert Rubel[3] at Tabor for the 2006 season. Coleman is the first former Tabor College player to start a professional game since Ben Brown started at Fullback for the Spokane Shock in 2007[4]. Dylan Pohlman, a soccer player and kicker for Tabor Football, played for the Wichita Stealth of AF2.[5] Rolland Derenfro "Bay" Lawrence of the Atlanta Falcons[6] is the only other Tabor athlete to play professionally.[7] Main campus Tabor's main campus is situated in Hillsboro, Kansas, a town of approximately 2600 residents, located approximately 45 miles north of Wichita, Kansas.
